North Moreton Beer and Cricket Festival
The annual North Moreton beer and cricket festival takes place this year from Thursday 27th July through to Sunday 30th July and will offer the tried and tested formula of real ale, cricket, good food and live music.
Always a hugely popular event with increasing numbers of visitors every year, the festival takes place around the The Bear and the adjacent village cricket pitch and as usual will include an extensive range of local real ales and ciders on offer throughout the event.
Beers and Ciders
This year the theme is “Great Session Ales” and and in addition to our regular offering of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and our “Bear Beer” brewed for us by West Berkshire Brewery we will be offering the following:
Otter Bitter, all the way from Devon, and at 3.6% a classic session beer
Rebellion’s IPA. A well known local favourite, at 3.7% it makes for easy drinking and is always among the first to sell out.
Loddon Brewery’s Hoppit at 3.5%, a particular favourite in the village and essential to ensure smiles all round and a successful event
Maldon Gold at 3.8% from the Mighty Oak Brewing Company in Maldon, Essex. Not something you’ll often find on sale in Oxfordshire and well worth calling by for.
Moreton Festival Ale at 4% is supplied by our regular local supplier, the West Berkshire Brewery. Excellent brewers with a fine reputation, you won’t be disappointed
Hogs Back Brewery, based near Farnham in Surrey are supplying their award-winning TEA (Traditional English Ale). At 4.2% it is the strongest on offer this year but had to be included as it was our most popular ale last year and is now a regular guest ale throughout the year.
Prescott Ales are supplying their Hill Climb, at 3.9% a”fruity and refreshing” award winning session ale strongly recommended by a local aficionado. Sounds perfect.
Bowman Ales from the Meon Valley in Hampshire are supplying their very popular Wallops Wood. A light chestnut bitter at 4.0% this will complement everything else on offer
