Sunday Lunch Menu

This is a sample Sunday lunch menu; everything is freshly prepared on site and every effort is made to source seasonal produce from local suppliers to be sure of provenance. The menu may be subject to minor change on the day. Open for lunch from 12.00 noon, with last orders please by 4.00pm. 

 

£20.95 for 2 courses or £25.95 for 3 courses

Starters

Smoked haddock, potato and clam chowder with crusty bread

Tempura chicken with chilli, garlic and ginger dressing and Asian slaw

Trio of cheese- homemade mini cheese scone with brie and sweet chilli jam, deep fried breaded goats cheese with red onion marmalade, cheddar and beer onion quiche (V)

Dhal samosa with chickpea curry, tamarind dressing, green chilli chutney, pickled red onion (V)

Chicken wings with a choice of BBQ sauce or hot buffalo sauce, blue cheese dip

Crispy fried whitebait, mixed leaf, tartare sauce and crusty bread

Mains

Roast topside of rare beef served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal greens, roasted root vegetables and red wine gravy

Roast pork loin served roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal greens, roasted root vegetables and red wine gravy

Roast leg of lamb served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal greens, roasted root vegetables and red wine gravy

Catch of the day

Superfood salad with halloumi, marinated grilled vegetables, quinoa, butternut squash, kale toasted seeds and honey and walnut dressing (V)

Butternut squash truffled mac 'n' cheese with toasted breadcrumbs and red onion focaccia (V)

Desserts

Sticky toffee pudding, toffee sauce served with vanilla ice-cream or cream

Local fruit crumble of the week with a choice of ice cream, cream or custard

Tiramisu served with amaretti biscuits

Gooey chocolate brownie, white chocolate fudge, salted caramel ice cream

The Bear sundae with brownie, ice cream, squirty cream, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce and chocolate shavings 

Pumpkin pie served with caramel pecan ice cream

Cheese Board with local cheeses Bix and St.Bartholomew from Nettlebed creamery, stilton, real ale chutney and crackers
